The township lies very close to River Delaware, and hence the name. The township is just a few minutes away from the NJ-Penn border and has nearly 4500 residents. Rt 28 and US Rt 22 border the township. Routes 523 and 604 intersect at the heart of the township. Sergeantsville is a historic district within the township and has numerous historic buildings. The township hosts an annual \"Thanksgiving\" house tour which takes visitors through 4-5 historic homes.
