The rural township of Tewksbury has a population of 5600 people in a little over 30 square miles. Pottersville, Cokesbury and Mountainville are sections within the township. Hacklebarney State Park lies near the Cokesbury area. Whittemore Wildlife Sanctuary in Oldwick is just a couple of miles from the Courthouse and is maintained by the township of Tewksbury. Route 517 and Interstate-78 pass through the township. The Tewksbury Historical Society is located in Oldwick, NJ.
