The Lea County museum is housed in the old Commercial hotel which was saved from demolition by the Lovington Women's club. Each Summer the museum holds a concert and dance series. The entertainers at this event are drawn from throughout the Southwest. The museum is the home of the Lea County Athletic Hall of Fame. The city has five parks, the largest of which is Chaparral park, with an eleven acre lake and an improved jogging and workout trail. Each year the Lea County Fair and Rodeo is held in this city during the first part of August. |
