Traffic Court gets tickets mostly from the local roads. I-890 runs through the city but there aren't many good spots for speed traps so most of those tickets seem to go to Rotterdam Town Court. Criminal cases are handled in Schenectady Criminal Court. |

About the area |
Believe it or not, Schenectady used to be the 20th largest city in the United States. That was a long time ago, of course. Now it's just one more declining northern former industrial wreck. But with that said, there have been some promising developments. Proctor's Theater is a bright spot, and Union College has been doing well. Union doesn't seem affected by the troubles facing other small colleges in today's economy. |
Hours of Operation |
Eight in the wee hours until Four post noon |
Judges |
Judge Loyola has been on the bench for a long time. Mark Blanchfield and Matt Sypniewski have joined him. Good people. |
Prosecutors |
Usually the DA handles traffic tickets in Schenectady City Court, but for Transportation Law cases or city ordinances it might be the City Attorney. |
