A busy court suffering from an overdose of drug cases and recovering from police corruption that is hopefully now in the past. Judge Versaci used to take a very tough line on prostitution cases, but he moved up to Surrogate. Civil Part is at 105 Jay Street, along with traffic. |
| About the area |
The City of Schenectady was the home of General Electric. Like many upstate cities, industrial decline and suburban flight have left the city in a difficult position. Recent economic development efforts create some hope. The Union College area is doing well. |

This is a full-time court. M-F 9-5. |

Hon. Guido Loyola (is he still there?), Hon. Matt Sypniewski, and Hon. Mark Blanchfield - all good people. |
| Prosecutors |
Schenectady DA's office handles most cases in the City Court. We've heard that traffic cases cannot be resolved by mail, unlike the rest of the county. Hopefully that will change. Always makes you comfortable to have court in the police station. |

A substantial amount of urban crime, much of it the result of drug prohibition. |
