The Allen county fair is held every year in August. Though famous for the concerts the main purpose for the fair is to promote agricultural events in Ohio. This fair usually welcomes more then 200,000 visitors every year. The Ottawa River flows through the city right from the market street. Allen County was named after John Allen the famous Colonel in the war of 1812.
