US Highway 30/State Road 7 runs Noth-South a few blocks East of the court and turns West a few blocks North of the court. The court hears cases arising from violations commited in the city of Huntington, which were formerly heard in the Huntington Municipal court and the Huntington Justice court.

Baker City was once the main stopping place along the Oregon Trail. population of any city in the state The city got its start during an era when gold mining was significant in the area and Baker City was the support center for the surrounding gold mining towns. About three miles north of the Baker City city limits is Baker City airport. The airport, covering 398 acres, is owned and operated by the City of Baker City. With runways measuring 5085, 4360 and 4000 feet in length; the airport can handle and service many dfferent type of aircraft.
