Redmond is also close to Mt. Bachelor, which offers several skiing areas for alpine and cross country skiers. Just north of Redmond lies Smith Rock State Park where spires and craggy palisades present many venues for rock climbing enthusiasts. Redmond operates Roberts Field, the region's only commercial airline service airport.
