The origin of this community, neighbor of Colver, Loretto, Nanty-Glo, and Willmore, took place when Rhees Lloyd and his men arrived to this territory back in the late 18th century. Ebensburg borough is today, the seat of Cambria County government and home of more than 3000 residents. This territory reflects a very traditional architectural style and has abundant saw mills and bituminous coal resources on its almost 2 square miles of extension.
