With an estimated of 46000 inhabitants, this territory named after Gov. Thomas Mifflin is part of Pennsylvania State map since its foundation back in the late 1780s. More than 35% of the residents report German ancestry, approximately 10% Irish, plus 20% American; which makes this land rich in traditions and beliefs with a racial makeup that includes African American, Native American, Asian, Hispanic, and other races as well. Do not be surprised if someone speaks a West Central German dialect due the presence of Amish and Mennotites, but allow yourself to get tempted by the delicious cuisine and delighted by the lovely architecture.
