About the area

The Blue Mountain and the Appalachian Trail are two wonderful blessings of this heavily Lithuanian area, which welcomed many immigrants from Tirol, Italy back in its settlement years. Nested in the arms of eight counties and created back in 1810s, this territory of almost 780 square miles of extension has an estimated population of 150000 people. The government operations center of Schuylkill County is located in Pottsville, which was named for the abundance of anthracite coal. If you are going to visit this land, stop by the Pottsville Skyline and enjoy a clear view of all this city founded back in the late 1820s.
