| About the area |
I lived in the Houston area for many years and didn't know Galveston was an island till later in life, didn't give it much attention. This use to be a very popular beach town where many Houstonians would drive to for the summer break. Now it isn't as popular as it used to be since the Clear Lake area has grown and come to attract more people and the Galveston beaches aren't the prettiest you'll come across.
