About the area
Castle Dale was settled around 1879. It's original name, taken from the valley in which it is located, was Castle Vale, however the post office listed it as Castle Dale and the name stuck. Castle Dale City's Blue Sage arena is the scene of such equestrian activities as barrel racing, the Emery County 4H Working Ranch Horse gathering and rodeos. The annual Emery county fair is held in Castle Dale at the end of July. The Museum of the San Rafael Swell has on exhibit the skeletons of Albertosaurus, Chasmosaurus, Animantarx and the skull of Tyrannosaurs Rex. In the Great Exhibit Hall, there are taxidermied examples of present day animals in their natural habitat.
Judges
Hon. Steven L. Stream who also serves in the Green River Justice court.
