SR 260 cuts through the length of Aurora while SR 24 cuts across the Southeastern part of town.
About the area
The first settlers of Aurora, attracted by the fertile soil and an abundance of water, came from Provo around 1875 and gave the town the name Willow Bend. Four years later the settlers bought a small canal that had been dug by one of the settlers and later dug two more. Subsequently many contracted typhoid fever from drinking the water from the canals and nearby river resulting in the the town digging wells for its supply. Willow Bend as the town's name was discarded by the post office and the name Aurora was substituted. Some of the original cabins of this settlement still remain and some are even still occupied but not by the original settlers. You can find the Butch Cassidy campground a few miles East of Aurora.
Judges
Hon. Lee Scott who also serves in the Salina Justice court.
