Mullens is located in the National Coal Heritage area and with over 75 structures being designated as of historic significance; the downtown area is registered as a National Historic District. Nearby Twin Falls Resort State park has a lodge located on the mountain top and secluded cottages or spacious camping sites at the campground. The Pioneer Farm, a living history farm in the park, is a restored home place on Bowers Ridge and is representative of the lives and times of the people who settled the area in the 1830's. .
