Comments Most traffic cases can be resolved by mail/fax with the Corporation Counsel (City Attorney). Court is in City Hall, on the main floor, toward the back on the left. Court clerk is on the right.
About the area Cohoes is part of the struggling Hudson River area in northern Albany County. A very blue collar community.
Hours of Operation 8 am to 3:30 pm in person, to 4 pm by phone.
Judges Hon. Stephen Van Ullen & Hon. Richard Maguire. Both are pleasant. Judge Maguire is well known in the legal community as an experienced trial lawyer.
Prosecutors Corporation counsel prosecutes traffic tickets. Albany DA's office prosecutes criminal matters.
Type Of Cases Speeding tickets from local streets and I-787. Criminal matters. As a city court, it handles both small claims and some larger claims.
