Some of the landmarks in Dermott are the Hammock House; a restored historic home circa 1911 built by an early mayor of Dermott and district Chancellor Judge for a quarter-of-a-century; The Dermott City mural located on the side of the community's Senior Citizens Center which depicts the town's history, cotton industry and the railroad and the historic Selma Rosenwald school which now serves as
a community center and meeting facility. The Dermott Historical museum displays a collection of photos and information about the Dermott area founding families, World War II memorabilia, house hold items, farming and work tools and business equipment. The first pumper fire truck ever owned by the city, a 1936 Dodge Fire Truck, is also in the museum. The annual Dermott Crawfish festival, held in mid-May, has pounds and pounds of crawfish for your eating enjoyment and arts & crafts, live music day and night, a Dog show and lots of other kinds of fun.
