The Pottsville Inn is one of the best preserved and relatively intact stagecoach stations along the Butterfield Overland Mail Company route and is also now a museum. This antebellum home, circa 1850, has been restored and is available for tours. The house is decorated with period furnishings and there are displays of antiques, hat and clothing collections from 1870 on, a new “dress-up” trunk area for children, antique farm equipment and historic photos. Some of these are in five log structures which have been moved to the compound. One of these structures houses the display of Indian artifacts and doll collections. The dolls dressed in replicas of the inaugural gowns of the first ladies of Arkansas.
