If you want to get a taste of some good food and a variety as well plan on attending the the Chamber of
Commerce's Savor the Flavor event is held in late October of each year as a fund raiser for the Chamber. The food is provided by a number of local restaurants and the evening is filled with a entertainment, a silent auction, door prizes and lots of socializing. Also in October the city holds its Spook City event where people are invited to roam the lawn at the Saline County courthouse and with six blocks of streets in the heart of downtown Benton. The kids are dressed in Halloween costumes for the event and trick and treating in the area. This event draws 8,000 to 10,000 people each year.
