Marionville Municipal Court

SR ZZ meets SR 14 in Marionville whereas US 60 and Sr 265 run together along the Southern border of the town and cut across a small piece of the Southeast corner.

Early settlers were drawn to the area around 1854 because of the clear, fresh water provided by the springs they found here. A succession of businesses were established here staring with a creamery around 1911, followed by the the Honey Creek Bottling Works soft drink company about two years later and shortly thereafter a tomato canning factory. In the late 1930's the city was known as the "Apple Capitol of Missouri." because of the many orchards in the area. The city still holds an annual "Applefest" in September. If you come to this event you browse through crafts, eat mouth watering foods, watch the parade followed by a car show, take part in the pie eating contest or apple peeling contest, catch a glimpse of the Sexy legs contest, put the kids on a pony ride and enjoy the rides on the carnival There will be music all three days and raffles for an assortment of prizes. While you are here take a walk among the magnificent Oak trees and take a look at the Victorian homes. The city is known for its white squirrels, a rare sight anywhere, protected by city law. These squirrels were sighted here as early as the 1800's.
