| About the area |
Rosedale which was originally called Floreyville, was established in the 1870's. Although it was incorporated in the 1880's; it was not until the early 1930's that it was designated a city. Among other notables from Rosedale, two in particular have achieved nationwide recognition. Mildrette Netter Graves was an Olympic Gold Medal winner in 1968 in track. In the early '50s, Dennis "Longman"Binder, Blues Hall of Famer, recorded entertaining novelty blues.
