About the area
The Governor Noel House, also known as Oak Hill, was built around 1875 in the Late Victorian Queen Anne style; a style of architecture which was popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The house is an irregular amalgam with gables and dormers extending from a central hipped roof, a two-story bay at the right of its facade, double porches and decorative wood shingles. Another home built during the same time period is the Judge Drennan house. This structure is two-story, clapboard & drop-sided bayed house built in the Italianate and Colonial Revival style. Its hipped and cross-gabled roof is of metal or asbestos cement shingles.
