Meridian Circuit Court serves as the Lauderdale County Circuit Court which is part of the Tenth District Circuit system of Mississippi. As far as we know, there's no relation to the Fort Lauderdale County Court in Broward County, Florida.

The Riley Center for Education & Performing Arts, in downtown Meridian, is the place to go for all kinds of entertainment and performances. This complex has in it the historic Grand Opera House and Marks Rothenberg Building. It is operated by Mississippi State University and offers a variety of arts and entertainment presentations, educational programs, conferences and meetings.
