| About the area |
The town of Kearny got it's named from Philip Kearny, the General of the Civil War. With a population of about 40,500 people in 9.1 square miles, the town of Kearny is not as densely packed as it's neighboring areas. Kearny has industrial belts (notable industries include Cardinal Industries, Blacktop Weatherseal Industries etc) and several residential communities that offer it's residents a good living community. The town offers special bus services for seniors to Manhattan and places in and around the town. Kearny Avenue is the commercial thoroughfare of the town and has many shopping and retail outlets. The Municipal Court is located on Kearny Avenue too.
