Town was established in 1792. The population was 711 in the 2000 census and since then the population has gone up about 50 people. The Norway Historical Center is well known in the area for genealogical research. Many people in the area have looked up their ancestry and found English, French, German, Irish, and some Asian descent. Great historical buildings to look at and also an old church. Town is on the edge of the Adirondacks and near the Route 28 corridor.
