Hastings-on-Hudson is located in the southwest part of the Town of Greenburgh, and should not be confused with Hastings, NY, which is in Oswego county. Metro-North's Hudson line has a station in Hastings-on-Hudson. Hastings-on-Hudson has been the home of many famous residents including several astronomers/scientists, Nobel laureates, artists, and actors. Such notables who have made their home here are Keith Olbermann (MSNBC), Big Band leader Charley Spivek, and Broadway producer Florenz Ziegfeld. It may not surprise you to read that the village borders the Hudson River. Names do mean something.
