The Village of Larchmont is located within the Town of Mamaroneck, on the shore of Long Island Sound. It was originally settled by the Siwanoy, an Algonquin tribe until the Dutch discovered it in 1614 and remained, displacing them. Famous residents of Larchmont include: Lou Gehrig, Joan Rivers, DW Griffith, Jean and Walter Kerr, Moss Hart and Marcus Camby. Metro-North's New Haven railroad line has a station in Larchmont.
