This community was founded in the late 1700's by two German settlers: Frederick and Rosina Hummel. Hummelstown is home to the Hummelstown Brownstone Company which is the largest provider of brownstone on the east cost of the U.S. When seeking outdoor activities, the townspeople can turn towards Shaffner Park, Alexander Park, Mehaffie Park, or the Hummel Nature Trail. Tourists may wish to vist the Warwick Hotel which is a tavern kept to the motif of American Revolutionary times.
