| About the area |
Cumberland is a historically rich city in the sense it is rich with historic sites and facts. Cumberland is about 8 miles away from Providence and is the north east corner of the state. The beaches of Cumberland are extremely beautiful and amazingly quiet, or perhaps non-existent. The Blackstone River is around here. The ground here is uneven and almost mountainous and that is why it is called a valley. The town is known for the excellent condition of roads throughout and also the two funky iron bridges. |
