The Fenton Glass works no longer produces its famous glassworks products but you can still take a tour of its beadmaking process and visit the museum. The factory was known for its handmade art glass and the museum displays over 1000 pieces of Fenton glass and shows a video of the glass-making process. Visit Henderson Hall, which was completed around 1859, to see artifacts and historical treasures preserved for more than 200 years of the family that was friends with George Washington, George Mason, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. The first member of this family arrived in this country from Scotland in the 1700's, however the Henderson Hall Plantation was completed by his descendant around 1859 and the home has remained intact throughout its existence. The home and the property are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. |
