With several highways running thru Goshen this court sees a surprising amount of traffic tickets.
About the area
This small town with several highways crossing thru it was the "trotting capital of the world" before Saratoga became famous for racing. A moderately famous murder trial was held here in 2006, where Christopher Porco was found guilty of murdering his father Peter Porco, law clerk to presiding judge Anthony Cardona of the Appellate Division, Third Department (the mid-level appeals court in the area). The trial was a big deal in Albany but did not get much news elsewhere.
Judges
Village Justice Thomas Cione and Acting Justice Kim VanHaaster
Prosecutors
Orange County DA. Town Attorney is Jacobowitz & Gubits LLP. Not clear if they do anything in the court.
Type Of Cases Traffic violations, DWI. Lots of speeding tickets from busy Route 17.

Feb 14 2007 23:12:46: I just received a call from a client who told me that traffic court is closed, presumably because of the weather. It would be helpful if someone could post a sign outside the courthouse indicating when people should return for appearances that have been adjourned due to this storm. You should also post information on this website.
