| About the area |
Although there were people living in the town in the 1880s, it was not incorporated until the early 1960s; once again a city incorporated because of the need to establish a water board to obtain a secure source of water. The population at that time was just over 200 and has grown to a little over 2100. Enough people to field a girls Softball team which in 2009 won the Girls Alabama State Championship. |
