Gentry District Court

Gentry District Court is one of the many state district courts in Benton county. Traffic cases for Decatur (SR 59 and SR 102) are heard in this court and this facilities are used by Gravette and Sulphur Springs district courts to hear their cases. SR 12 and SR 59 meet in Gentry.

When construction of the Kansas City-Pittsburg and Gulf Railroad was completed to Gentry around 1894, settlement of the town began. With fruit farms growing apples and berries industries such as shipping, evaporating and canning of fruits were established. This also led to the town being called Orard but upon incorporation i around 1898 the town was renamed Gentry in honor of the honor of the president of the railroad. A major lumber yard was also established in the town which is still in the same location as of today. The kids and probably most adults would enjoy a visit to Wild Wilderness Drive-through Safari. This facility covering approximately 400 acres where you can see many exotic animals. There are also petting parks, walk through areas where you can interact with animals and pony and camel rides.
