On a close to 23 acre site in the Northwest corner of this city of close to 25,000 people sits the the Arnold Recreation center, Jefferson County College, and the Jefferson County Library. The recreation center is an up to date facility with a two court gym, indoor leisure pool, fitness center, party room, track, locker rooms, meeting rooms, outdoor leisure pool, outdoor concession stand and a lounge complete with a large seating area. The Jefferson County Community college provides both Arts and Science Education programs and Career and Technical Education Degree programs. The city also has several parks for leisure and outdoor activities. They are Arnold City, Ferd B. Lang, Paw, Flamm City and the Strawberry Creek Nature area.
