One of the original 5 towns of Ulster County, settled in 1683, with annual town meetings originally held at Davis Tavern just might be the oldest town hall north of the Mason-Dixon line (okay, probably not). Marbletown was the 2nd state capitol, with the Committee for Safety meeting there from Oct - Nov 1777. Marbletown includes the village of Stone Ridge, with its many historic houses & sites, listed in the National Registry.
