Rector District Court is a district court in Clay county. US 49 and SR 1 meet SR 90 and SR 119 in Rector.
About the area
The founding of this town was due to the construction of the St. Louis and Southwestern railroad down the eastern edge of Crowley’s Ridge around 1882. Whereas most new settlers had come to the nearby town of Scatterville, the location of the railroad caused the Scatterville businesses to move to the railroad and the town of Rector came into being. The railroad was a boost to the economy of the town with an improvement in commerce and transportation. The Rector Community center is located in Memorial park. It has within it a multi-purpose room with stage and concert lighting, a dining room equipped with a commercial kitchen, meeting rooms and an office area. Since its completion in the early 1990's it has become a gathering place for the entire community
