In the first half of the 20th century many Slavic immigrants settled in Sugar Creek. Now the city, like many others, provides its citizens with the enjoyment of its Concert in the Park series held from Spring through early Fall. One of the groups usually performing is the Sugar Creek Tamburitzans, singing songs of the Slavic culture. Three of the city's parks; Harrison, Roper Stadium and LaBenite have at least one shelter. The annual Family Fall festival held in late October to coincide with Halloween is a real treat with Free hot dogs, chips, popcorn and water. There's also trick or treating, games a haunted house, pony rides, a petting zoo and costume and pie eating contests.
