Interstate 81, a major highway runs through the town as well. Next to the city of Cortland, Homer, along with at least one other town in the county, is named after a writer of some classics of western literature. Driving I-81 is not the same as going on an Odyssey, but it can be a bit of an adventure if you drive too fast.
