Discussions have been held for years about the real origin of the Town's name, some claim that as per a very old tradition, this land got named after one of the Town's founders, Mr. George Ellicott. The political and conservative portion of the population of this community claim that Mr. George Washington was the honored one, once the town was named. Regardless of the real origin of the town´s name, this is a unique piece of land with very good cheese factories and lumber industries.
