| About the area |
This land is one of the witnesses of the construction of the Erie Canal and it was also generous in donating part of its territories back in the 1830's to help form the Town of Stockbridge. The Crouse and Wilson families were pioneers of this farming land, which was the home of many Italian immigrants. The community has today the honor of the second largest onion-growing districts in the country. The town is also known for being an eternal lover of war history.
