About the area

Central and Salina Plank Road (US11), built between 1844 and 1846 was the first plank road in the US. Central Square was a hub of activity when the NY Central Railroad and the Ontario and Western Railroad crossed here. The trains are gone but there is a nice railroad museum at the crossing.
