City of Fulton, named after Steamboat inventor, Robert Fulton, is a riverside city with Oswego river running through the city. It is located 10 miles south of Lake Ontario and 25 miles north of the City of Syracuse. Historically, Fulton has been the hub of industrial activity and ideal base for leading companies due to its centralized location. The major industries that started in Fulton were Nestle and Miller Brewing Company. For many years Fulton called itself the "City with a Future" Today, most of the industry has left Fulton leaving an economically depressed city.
