Hannibal is a rural town located in the extreme western part of the county and is bounded on the north by Oswego and Granby, on the east by Granby, and on the south and west by Cayuga County. In the northwest corner of the town is a salt spring from which salt was formerly manufactured in limited quantities. The principal stream is Nine Mile Creek, which flows through the village of Hannibal.
