| About the area |
The Erie Canal provided the means for people to visit Galen and Clyde in the 1800's. Many people created their homes here and settled into the area. Then the railroad was created and this brought several industries into the town. General Electric and Auburn Plastics are just two of the factories that established themselves here and many of the townspeople are employed at these sites. Great area schools and churches. Good town to raise children in and not too far from Rochester and Syracuse, plus Canada too.
