Pratt Municipal Court

SR 61 runs through the Southern part of Pratt and is met by CR 83 coming up from the South.

Although the area was settled some years before the 19th century and early settlers continued coming here until the middle of the century; the city was not established until the middle of the first decade of the 20th century. One of the early settlers built his home here just after the middle of the 19th century and laid out the town calling it Clifton. After the Civil War when the city expanded it took on a new name, Dego. In the late 1880's the Charles Pratt Coal Company established its headquarters here and the town was renamed Pratt. From 1912 to 1913 the city was where the Mine wars, confrontations between striking miners and the coal companies, took place.
