| About the area |
When the town was charted in the 1870's it was known as Cassville. However in the early 1930's the name was changed to Fort Gay for the fort (Fort Gallup) located on a hill at Louisa, Kentucky opposite this municipality prior to the Civil War. For some excitement you might want to visit the Tri-River dragway where drag races are held every Saturday.
