About the area

Rte 9 passes through town. Stockport Creek is one of the 10 largest tributaries of the Hudson River. The town borders the Hudson. Despite having nearly 3000 people, few people in nearby Albany (including the founder of this site) have even heard of the Town of Stockport. Note from the comments below that one of the judges doesn't think that's funny. We do encourage the Town of Stockport to put up a website so that it's easier for others (including us and those who get traffic tickets) to get accurate information about the town.

Mar 03 2008 21:12:46: I would like to add some corrections to your site for Stockport Town Court. 1st. of all the correct phone number is 518-822-8009. 2nd.-This court is one of the busiest in Columbia County, hearing between 50 - 75 cases each week. We hear not only traffic cases but criminal cases as well. The DA's office is ALWAYS there on the 1st. & 3rd. Monday nights of each month, along with the PD's office.
