About the area

Valatie is Dutch for "Little Falls" for the waterfalls from the Kinderhook Creek and Valatie Kill. The village of Valatie is located in the Town of Kinderhook, on US Rte 9. Valatie is a blue collar community that is rich in history and tradition. The Mohegans were here, cotton mills, then some Irish immigrated and Governor Martin Glynn is considered a native by some.

Mar 19 2010 22:29:59: Received letter from Vil of Valatie, called Vil of Valaite number to ask a question, Judge answered the phone and said "We're holding court now, " I asked why they are answering the phone if they can't assist the caller and he asked "if I was getting smart with him". Very unprofessional representation of a Village Judge!
Nov 26 2009 03:41:35: Terrible service, they have no idea what is going on in their own courts. Took over a month just to get a ticket taken care of. They work one day a week and hold horrible hours.
