| About the area |
About 305 people reside in the area. Very quiet and quaint town. People very friendly and helpful. Tiny quiet town near Tupper Lake, New York. Great area for snow shoeing and hiking. Lots of wildlife such as bears, deer, and some moose have been sighted in recent years. The moose in this area had died out at one point but have been reintroduced to the area. Also some mountain lions can be spotted and eagles sometimes frequent the higher elevations. Wonderful small town to visit if you like camping. The summer months are big tourist times so if you would like an even quieter time try the winter months. There is always plenty of great skiing places in the area. That's the Adirondack Park for you. Just make sure your roof is either green or brown. Come visit the North Country!
