About the area

Two of the best known corporations in the world are located in Redmond. If you've ever flown anywhere you probably flew in a Boeing Aircraft and if you own a PC you can't escape using one of the Microsoft Corporation's software products. The city was first settled in the 1870's by immigrants from Europe. Salmon abound in the local river; which may have attracted the settlers to the area.
Our site's founder still remembers driving past the Boeing airport. Called mom and told her I was driving past white planes (a play on the NY community White Plains). Because the planes are painted plain white you see.
